Dear Partner,
Asset Africa Institute, (www.assetsafrica.org), are pleased to announce the following seminar set to take place in November 2016 in Nairobi, Kenya.
Course Name:ORGANIZATION & PROGRAM RISK MANAGEMENT SEMINAR
’Embedding the culture of risk management in your organization”
Date: 9th -11th November 2016
Venue: Nairobi, Kenya
Introduction
Organizations globally now and more than any other time want a sense of protection from the dangers of an uncertain future. At the same time, donors and investors want to feel that Directors and Managers of institutions they invest in know and have concrete risk management strategies: “***Management in control of uncertainty”***
Understanding your organization’s risks and exposures and acquiring skills to mitigate these risks is not an option for any Director or Senior Manager. While the ultimate responsibility of ensuring that the organization has identified risks and instituted measures to mitigate such exposures rests with the board, establishing an effective risk management framework is an essential and critical part of the management function; thus, senior managers must acquire an understanding of these risks as a basis of ensuring that boards comply with this requirement. This way, management is able to help boards to comply with this important requirement of establishing an effective risk management framework.
Organizational Budgetary control and similar systems of target setting and rewards have tried to provide that sense of comfort. However, if budgetary control really provided control in today's fast moving, complex, and turbulent world then, organizations, whose budgetary control systems have been operated rigorously, would not get nasty surprises; but they do!
